The Pixel 10 launch is drawing closer and although the leaks have been leakier than ever, we’re still excited for Google’s next batch of flagship phones. However, the firm may have made a bad decision in 2025.
Don’t get me wrong, the Pixel 10 phones look to be a decent upgrade, with built-in magnetic Qi2 charging and various upgrades elsewhere, and although the design looks essentially the same as the Pixel 9, the range of colourways is a big change.
There are no less than five new shades being introduced to the Pixel 10 phones this year, but has Google got the selection right? One choice in particular could make it very difficult for buyers to pick which model to buy.
We’ve ranked all 7 Pixel 10 colours from “queasy” to “arboreal” and I totally agree with Jon that the Limoncello hue is an eyesore, but I want to focus on another colour here.

All in on Indigo
Indigo is looking like it will be this year’s fan favourite colourway, with a lot of hype and love on social media for it in the lead-up to the launch event.
It makes sense for multiple reasons, partly because it’s very on trend, following in the footsteps of the Ultramarine iPhone 16 and Blue Shadow of Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

For long-time Pixel fans, it’s also an homage/throwback to the best original Pixel colour by far. Back in 2016, when Google had lots of fun with its colourway names, it was called ‘Really Blue’.
It was a US-only exclusive at first, but Google did eventually launch it in the UK as a limited edition.

If you missed that stunner, Indigo is likely to fill the blue hole in your heart. But there’s a big problem…
The colourway conundrum
Indigo is only available on the entry-level regular Pixel 10. ‘Professionals’ buying the Pro models seemingly need to keep things more serious with a grown-up colour palette – much like the iPhone 16 Pro models.
The most fun option if you do want a Pixel 10 Pro is the Jade green; elsewhere, the dark silver Moonstone is the one Google has gone big on this year, leaving the classic Obsidian and Porcelain options.
Those wanting the 10 Pro Fold will get more exciting options than normal, with Moonstone and Jade.

Sometimes these colours do look different in person (I totally thought the Pixel 8a in ‘Aloe’ was horrible in renders and it turned out to be more mint than acid green).
But Indigo is likely to be the winner for me this year, and it could well be the best Pixel 10 phone with the addition of a telephoto camera, Qi2 charging and the fact that it’s sticking at the same price as last year.
That’s if the rumours are true, which they normally are, so which colour will you opt for?
We’ll find out all the official details on 20 August at the big Made by Google event.
