Galaxy S25 FE: In summary
- Samsung’s mid-range alternative to Galaxy S25 flagships
- Likely to cost around £649/$649
- Confirmed to launch earlier than October
When it comes to flagship phones, Samsung has been very busy in 2025.
Its Galaxy S25 series has spawned four models, with January’s Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra joined by the ultra-thin S25 Edge in May.
However, Samsung’s not done there. The company has confirmed that a more affordable ‘FE’ model is on the way, and it could be here sooner than you might think.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy S25 FE’s rumoured release date, price and key specs.
Latest Galaxy S25 FE rumours
The Galaxy S25 FE will have a total of four colourways, all of which are different to last year’s set, and there’s an impressive upgrade in store for both the battery life and charging speed.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE be released?
In summary
- Samsung confirms launch will be earlier than last year
- Galaxy S24 FE arrived in October 2024
- Could be unveiled on September 4th or 19th
In Samsung’s earnings call discussing its financial results for Q2 (April-June) of 2025, VP of the Mobile Experience division, Daniel Araujo, revealed the following:
“For the Galaxy S25 series, we will focus on maintaining sales momentum with seasonal promotions as well as an earlier launch of the S25 FE”.
For context, the Galaxy S24 FE was released on 3 October 2024, so its successor looks set to arrive in August or September, instead. As for a more specific release date, one report suggests it’ll be 19 September in Samsung’s native South Korea. Could it be the same globally?
Here’s when the last few generations went on sale:
- S24 FE – October 2024
- S23 FE – October 2023
- S22 FE – Cancelled
- S21 FE – January 2022
- S20 FE – October 2020
It’s also worth noting that with Samsung’s IFA press conference scheduled for 4 September, there’s always a chance that the S25 FE could be officially announced during that event, although the jury’s still out on that one. If it doesn’t take place, then an announcement not too long after shouldn’t be too surprising, given the supposed imminent nature of an official launch.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE cost?
In summary
- €749 EU starting price rumoured – same as S24 FE
- Likely to be £649/$649 in the UK and US
So far, only EU pricing has leaked for the Galaxy S25 FE. It’ll supposedly start at €749 for 128GB of storage, with the 256GB model costing €809.
For context, these are the exact same prices as the Galaxy S24 FE, so we’d expect them to stay the same as last year in the UK:
- 128GB – £649/$649
- 256GB – £699/$699
Nothing has been revealed regarding the Galaxy S25 FE’s pricing at this stage. So, our best guess comes from how much recent generations cost at launch:
- S24 FE – from £649/$649.99
- S23 FE – from £599/$579.99
- S21 FE – from £699/$699
- S20 FE – £599 (4G) or £699/$699 (5G)
Key rivals at this price include the iPhone 16e, OnePlus 13R and Xiaomi 14T Pro.

What specs and features will the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE have?
In summary
- Exynos 2400 chipset expected
- Upgraded selfie camera rumoured
- Similar design to S24 FE revealed
The Galaxy S25 FE might be just around the corner, but only a few specs have leaked so far. Here’s what you can expect:
- 6.7-inch, Full HD+ LTPO flexible AMOLED screen
- Exynos 2400 chipset
- 8GB of RAM, 128- or 256GB of storage
- 12Mp selfie camera
- 4900mAh battery
- 45W charging
- 7.4mm
While the display might sound almost identical to the Galaxy S24 FE version, the addition of a flexible OLED panel is significant. It’s a feature we only usually see on flagship phones, allowing it to curve around the edges and reduce the bezel even further. Alongside an improved peak brightness of 2600 nits, it could be a nice upgrade.
Other improvements of note compared to the S24 FE would be the chipset (previously Exynos 2400e), selfie camera (previously 10Mp), battery capacity (previously 4700mAh), charging speed (previously 25W) and thickness (previously 8mm).
The move to a more powerful Exynos 2400 chipset is all but confirmed now, and while we don’t expect massive leaps in performance over what was possible before, it should at least allow for quicker load times when opening apps and jumping between them. The S25 FE will retain the same 8GB RAM as before, as well as the two storage options of 128- and 256GB. There is a slight chance, however, that a 512GB model might turn up in more territories (there was a 512GB option on the S24 FE, but its availability was extremely limited).
However, detailed renders reveal the device’s design in full:

OnLeaks x SammyGuru
For anyone who’s used a Samsung Galaxy phone recently, this aesthetic will be familiar. Samsung is clearly sticking with three rear camera lenses, expected to consist of 50Mp main, 12Mp ultrawide and 8Mp 3x telephoto once again.
Thanks to the latest round of leaks, we now know that the S25 FE will be available in no less than four colourways: White, Black, Navy and Icy Blue. That’s one less than what was available with the S24 FE, which came in Yellow, Mint, Grey, Graphite and Blue.

NieuweMobiel
As mentioned before, one of the most eye-catching upgrades expected for the Galaxy S25 FE is a notable uptick in battery life as well as much faster charging speeds than before. The S24 FE has a 4700mAh cell and 25W wired charging to go with it, but now it appears if the S25 FE will kick that up a notch to feature a 4900mAh and 45W pairing.
Of course, we won’t know exactly how much of an impact the larger battery will have on longevity until we get a sample in for testing, but the move to 45W wired charging does, at the very least, bring the phone up to the same standard as the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
