A new Fitbit wearable has been doing the rounds of the rumour mill in recent weeks and it seems Google might announce its latest model today.
Thought for a while to be the Fitbit Charge 7, a long-awaited successor to the popular Charge 6, it looks like it will arrive as the Fitbit Edge. Early leaks didn’t provide any information about the name, simply that something was coming.
Following leaks from both Android Headlines and Evan Blass, Google has now officially teased the device via the Google Health social media channels. A post on X says “Get an Edge on your health” with today’s date (in US format).
Even if ‘edge’ wasn’t capitalised, it wouldn’t be the most cryptic teaser given the leaks.
The close-up image shows a button within a champagne gold body and the tiniest amount of a silicone strap at the bottom that appears to match the Canyon colourway of the Pixel 11 Pro phones.
There’s little else to glean from the teaser apart from the fact it looks like we can see the glass covering a screen. This is how it will primarily differentiate itself from the Fitbit Air.
Thanks to leaks, we know in good detail what to expect from the Fitbit Edge. After all, Google accidentally showed the fitness tracker off in marketing material following the Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5 launch (below).

It looks like it will come in three colours other than Canyon: Olive, Fog and Obsidian paired with Satin Pyrite, Polished Silver and Matte Black bodies.
In terms of specs and features, it will last for up to 7 days, be compatible with iOS and Android (running Fitbit software rather than Wear OS) and offer things like GPS, NFC, and a heart rate sensor.
Elsewhere it will have a 1.34-inch AMOLED always-on screen, Bluetooth, IP68 protection and over 40 exercise modes.

Overall then, an obvious replacement for the Fitbit Charge 6 with a more Pixel Watch style design and no doubt Google’s big selling point will be all the AI-driven health and fitness data offered up; hence posting the teaser via the Google Health account.
The price is rumoured to be £159 in the UK or €179 in Europe, with the US price likely to be around the $180 mark. Bear in mind that you’ll have to pay extra for Google Health Premium to access features like the Health Coach.
