Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with 512GB hits record low price

Now £1,099, down from £1,529

High-end smartphones are aimed at users who value performance, camera quality, and long battery life. Current flagship models, in particular, increasingly focus on AI features, high-quality displays, and powerful hardware for demanding everyday applications. There are few better options than the Samsung Galaxy phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with 512GB of storage is currently available from Amazon for only £1,099, which is 28% less than the RRP of £1,529. That’s a saving of £430. However, this significant discount only applies to the white colour. This is the lowest price Amazon has ever offered for this model – it’s never been cheaper. The 1TB version is also at its lowest-ever price. This deal saves you £300 (18%) and brings all colour options down to £1,399.

When we reviewed it, we gave the Galaxy S25 Ultra 4.5 out of 5 stars and praised its “magical software”, the all-new and exclusive Privacy Display, its faster charging and video features. Our score is closely matched on Amazon, where customers gave it 4.4 out of 5 stars based on around 120 reviews, making it a highly-rated device.

What the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has to offer

The smartphone features a large 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Quad HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. A new feature is the Privacy Display, which protects content from people peeking at your screen from the sides. This can be particularly useful when using the device on public transport.

In our test, the display impressed us with its high brightness, sharp image, and effective anti-glare coating. However, the Privacy Display does have one minor drawback: when activated, the screen is slightly darker and the resolution is reduced.

Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy is at work, combined with 12GB of RAM. In testing, the S26 Ultra proved to be a true performance powerhouse, capable of running even demanding games at high settings without any problems.

The camera is also a key focus: The main camera boasts 200Mp and is complemented by additional sensors. Features include 3x and 5x optical zoom, as well as up to 100x digital zoom. Video recording is possible in up to 8K resolution.

A larger aperture on both the main camera and the 5x telephoto lens offers advantages, particularly in low-light conditions. However, in our tests, the differences compared to the previous generation were minor for standard photos. The new video features are significantly more interesting, including the horizontal lock mode, which keeps the image level even while being shaken.

Also important for day-to-day use are a 5,000 mAh battery with 60-watt fast charging, dual-SIM support including eSIM, and modern standards such as Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. In testing, the battery reliably lasted until evening, even on days with heavy screen time. The significantly faster charging proved to be one of the most noticeable hardware upgrades: according to the test, you can get over 50% of battery life after only 15 minutes of charging, and over 80% after half an hour.

The case is made of aluminium, while the front features Gorilla Armor 2 and the back Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Samsung has also improved the software. The Galaxy S26 Ultra runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 and offers numerous new AI features. In our review, we describe Samsung’s software and AI tools as one of the smartphone’s greatest strengths. Samsung also guarantees operating system and security updates for seven years.

Why the offer is worth it

The current price is the lowest since its release, making the model significantly more attractive. This offer is particularly relevant to users looking for a high-performance Android smartphone with long-term update prospects and modern features.

User reviews are overwhelmingly positive: The high performance, versatile settings, bright and sharp display, and AI functions are particularly praised.

Criticism has been levelled at the relatively minor hardware improvements over its predecessor, the S Pen’s placement, and the lack of Qi2 magnets. Overall, however, the smartphone remains one of the most well-rounded flagships around, showing its strengths in everyday use and when using performance features.
